🐾 About Olaf
Olaf is a truly special boy with a gentle soul and an incredible story. After spending over five years surviving on the streets as part of a colony, he has spent the past 18 months in foster care learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for.
He is now ready to find a calm, understanding forever home where he can continue to thrive.
Olaf is affectionate, warm, and deeply loyal once he trusts you. He communicates in soft whispered meows and strong, resonant purrs that sound like a little motor when he is content.
He enjoys:
* Head scratches, cheek rubs, and chin tickles
* Curling up in sunny spots around the home
* Following the smell of cooking into the kitchen
* Sleeping under blankets and snuggling close to his people
Olaf is great with gentle children and enjoys companionship. He currently lives with other cats but may try to take a more dominant role, so slow introductions are recommended.
⸻
💛 Personality
Olaf can be a little shy or skittish at times and will need patience as he settles into a new environment. Once comfortable, he becomes affectionate, playful, and incredibly devoted to his people.
He will often seek closeness at night and loves to use his humans as a pillow, showing just how bonded he becomes when he feels safe.
⸻
🏥 Medical & Care Needs
Olaf has some ongoing medical requirements, but is currently stable and doing well in care:
* No ears due to surgical removal for skin cancer (2024) — hearing unaffected
* No teeth due to dental disease (2024)
* Allergic dermatitis requiring lifelong management (hypoallergenic diet + medication)
* Immunocompromised and must remain strictly indoors
* Prone to stress-related anxiety behaviours
* Occasional risk of ringworm (currently controlled)
* Increased risk of skin cancer due to white coat
Olaf does best in a calm, predictable environment with a dedicated and understanding adopter.
⸻
🐾 History
Olaf was part of a stray colony for over five years before being rescued and brought into foster care through Hills Cat Rescue. During his time in foster, he has learned to trust humans, enjoy indoor life, and experience safety for the first time.
⸻
💛 Ideal Home
Olaf would suit a quiet, patient home where he can:
* Be strictly indoor only
* Receive consistent care and routine
* Be given time to settle at his own pace
* Enjoy gentle affection and companionship
He will reward his adopter with deep loyalty, affection, and a bond unlike any other.
